Issue/Introduction

What kind of traffic is being sent with Single Ended Delivery Paths?

Resolution

AppNeta uses a few types of ICMP: ICMP Echo, Echo-Reply, Port-Unreachable, Fragmentation-needed, and time-exceeded.  All of these packet types are required for Target monitoring points, as found our our Firewall Configuration page.

We may vary the packet sizes based on the network capacity to most accurately measure performance, which is dynamically controlled.
