Issue/Introduction

The product documentation mentions that the -l parameter can be used with a logging.properties file to generate logging but does not mention what the logging.properties file should contain:

All Identity Manager versions

Resolution

Create a new file, logging.properties, containing the configuration below, and reference this file using the -l parameter. With the configuration shown in this example, all logging output will be captured in a new migration.log file.

handlers = java.util.logging.FileHandler, java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler
.level = ALL

# File Logging
java.util.logging.FileHandler.pattern = migration.log
java.util.logging.FileHandler.formatter = java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter
java.util.logging.FileHandler.level = ALL

# Console Logging
java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = ALL
