VIP Enterprise Gateway Ldapsync Service.log grows to over 1GB when synchronizing a large number of users

Issue/Introduction

During an LDAP synchronization, the service.log may grow to over 1 GB when synchronizing a large number of users. This can occur even if the log level is set to INFO. 

 

Cause

The number of users being synchronized, the amount of data exchanged between the VIP Enterprise Gateway, and the frequency of the LDAP sync (for example: running multiple manual LDAP synchronizations) will affect the log size. The VIP Enterprise Gateway logs will roll over daily, but will not roll over based on file size. 

Resolution

If the file size grows larger than 1 GB, manually split the file into smaller chunks in order to view the file contents.
