When select an image the console reports: The selected image operating system is undefined. Please change the OS in the image settings or create a new OS definition

Issue/Introduction

I captured a gho image and am now at the part where I prepare to Deploy Image. I get the above dialog: The selected image operating system is undefined. Please change the OS in the image settings or create a new OS definition

Environment

ITMS 8.6+

Cause

The image does not have an OS type defined for it.

Resolution

The OS that is defined comes from the Image Setting. To edit the Image OS setting of the image follow this path from console:

Setting > Deployment > Image Management

Then select your image, the icons in the tool bar will gain focus,  then click the pencil to Edit

Then select the Operating System of the Image as seen here:
