Issue/Introduction

What is the HA procedure when moving the UIM MS SQL database to another server?

Environment

Any HA version

Resolution

1. Stop the HA probe on the HA hub before migrating the UIM MS SQL server to the new server.
2. Complete all UIM Migration steps per steps in UIM database migration to a new Server
3. Temporarily stop the data_engine probe on the Primary hub
4. Activate the data_engine probe on the HA hub and enter the new MS SQL server credentials
Note: If the probe fails to connect to the database (this is expected), select the Ignore button to launch the data_engine Configure GUI.
5. Deactivate/Activate the data_engine probe and validate that it starts up fine.
6. Deactivate data_engine probe on the HA Hub
7. Activate data_engine probe on the Primary Hub
8. Update the NAS cmdbs- connection_url, user, and password keys with new database server properties on the HA hub
Note: The NAS Auto-Operator (AO) is disabled when the HA hub is not standing in for the Primary hub.
CMDBS connections will need to be validated when the Primary hub fails over to the HA hub
