DB001005 in ODBC update transaction

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to perform an SQL update statement, an ODBC transaction is getting a DB001005 INVALID TRANSACTION STATE error despite the data source definition having an Access Mode setting of READ WRITE.

Release : All supported releases

Resolution

Trying the same statement and data source with Visual Express showed no error.

The front end ODBC client tool (in this case, QlikView) was not honouring the settings of the data source.
