DB instance report required in Operator Console including drilldown reports

Issue/Introduction

We require a database instance and drilldown report on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Could you help us in creating the report?

Resolution

Recommend upgrading to the latest CU, CU8, so you can take advantage of the latest build especially when it comes to the use of the List Designer/List Viewer.

We highly recommend using the List Designer to provide a report for the db instances and it will scale very well. List Designer was introduced in CU6 so you can try using it now but best bet is to use the latest. If you only have a small number of DB instances you can use a dashboard, with dashboard widgets but Lists provide superior scale over time as the environment or monitoring requirements expand.

This KB Article shows options for creating a dashboard/report for VMware but it still gives you an idea of what is possible for reporting on DB instances.

For the current request, these are the basic steps to follow:

You must specify a Group in the 'List Designer,' e.g., Windows

To drilldown into the Performance Report (PRD) you already created and saved using the Performance Reports Designer, you must open the 'List Viewer' and click on the host for instance, and that opens up/displays the PRD report for a given server.
