Issue/Introduction

If LPAR-A fails, can I setup TPX such that LPAR-B will take over resulting in seamless switching to the end user?

Resolution

In order to achieve this, there are 2 options:

1. Generic Resource Routing: Refer to Set Up TPX as a VTAM Generic Resource
   OR
2. USERVAR, which is a component of VTAM

Additional Information

In both cases if the primary TPX fails then users already logged into TPX sessions will lose their existing sessions. New users signing on will not see the difference.
