Resolution

As far as entering a password phrase it depends on the application.

For example for TSO, CICS, BATCH and IMS signons:

TSO:
Password phrases must be in single quotes.

CICS:
Password phrases must be in single quotes when they contain one or more leading or trailing blanks.

Batch jobcard:
Password phrases must be in parenthesis.
Batch //*PASSWORD:
Password phrases must be in single quotes or apostrophes when they contain one or more leading or trailing blanks.

In general for Broadcom and other vendor products it depends on the application. The best approach is to check with the product's documentation on password phrase support to determine the requirements for entering a password phrase.
