When I click on the Interactive merge option, there is an extended period of waiting time and then a message in the log that indicates the interactive merge was successfully cancelled.

This can happen if a timeout occurs while checking out the files to be compared for the Interactive Merge. You can verify if this is the case by checking each of the files out for browse to a temporary location on your computer. If you get a timeout error, such as EC=8 or EC=9, then Interactive Merge will fail as described above.
We recommend configuring Harvest with a direct connect port range and making sure the needed ports are open in the firewall.
