After adding an IP address to the Management Server List using the HTTPS protocol with Verify Certificate enabled, the following error appears after clicking OK:
14.3.X
When using the HTTPS protocol, the common practice is to verify the certificate of the server to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the connection. However, HTTPS is primarily designed to work with domain names rather than IP addresses. While it is technically possible to use an IP address in the URL of an HTTPS connection, the certificate verification process relies on the domain name.
This is working as designed.
HTTPS protocol and certificate verification is not compatible with IP addresses and requires the use of hostname\FQDN.
