Issue/Introduction

Assignment dates are automatically changed when adding segments with ETC

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Create an Assignment to a Task inside a Project
2. Set Assignment Start Date = 1/1/2023
3. Set Assignment Finish Date = 12/31/2023
4. Add ETC to Assignment from 6/1/2023 to 6/30/2023 for 160 Hours

EXPECTED RESULT - The Assignment Dates do not change and stay on 1/1/2023 to 12/31/2023 with 160 hours of ETC

ACTUAL RESULT - The Assignment Dates automatically get updated to 6/1/2023 to 6/30/2023 with 160 hours of ETC

Resolution

This is expected behavior.  Clarity defaults the assignment start/finish date to the project date however if you add segments with specific dates and ETC then Clarity will take the earliest date of ETC as the start date and the latest as the finish date.

Ex-

Task 1 has one resource assignment

Assignment 1 - the default dates will be the project start/finish.  Under ETC detail, enter start 6/1/23 and finish 6/30/23 with 160.  After saving the assignment dates will update to 6/1/23-6/30/23 because that is the only ETCs assigned 

If you need the assignment dates to not change, there will have to be ETCs assigned across those dates, not just one month.
