Is there a way for the user to check the integrity of the Web Filter Database on Edge Secure Web Gateway (EdgeSWG) or ProxySG appliances to check if it has been tampered with?
The communication between the ProxySG / EdgeSWG appliance & database servers occur over secure SSL connection. The certificate of the database source is validated before the download. Once downloaded, there is an internal checksum validation. Hence there is no chance of the database being tampered, and it is for this reason i.e. to avoid any external tampering that once the DB is downloaded, external access to modify the DB is not allowed i.e. access to the DB object for performing individual operations such as editing or integrity checks are not allowed. There are no commands on the appliance for this.
