Software Data Provider Inventory task is failing with the following SQL error: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type nvarchar

Issue/Introduction

When running the Software Catalog Data Provider Inventory task, you notice it fails after just a few minutes.  Looking into the result, you notice the error shown in the following screenshot indicating:

An unknown exception was thrown on server side.
Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type nvarchar.

Environment

ITMS 8.7

Cause

A SQL View needs updating

Resolution

Both the Software Data Provider Inventory task and the Software Catalog Data Provider are not frequently used any longer as the data is very old.  The data stops around 2015.  You may want to consider no longer using this data.

This issue was fixed in ITMS 8.7 RU1. 

Attached is a SQL script that also could be used to modify the view and resolve the issue.
