Issue/Introduction

The LiveUpdate download schedule for Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Linux client can set in the LiveUpdate settings policy.

LiveUpdate Policy: Linux Schedule

In this settings, Retry Windows option can set the number of hours or days to keep trying to run LiveUpdate if the scheduled run of LiveUpdate failed for some reason.

After upgrade the SEP for Linux 14.x to Linux agent SEP 14.3 RU1 or later, the LiveUpdate does not retry if it failed with some reasons. Next scheduled LiveUpdate will started.

Environment

Release : 14.3 RU1 or later

Resolution

This is by design. This option is for the earlier release before 14.3 RU1.

On 14.3 RU1 and later, if the schedule is missed, then there is no retry. The next LU will run as per the schedule.
