How to enable discovery debug in spectrum

Issue/Introduction

Support may ask you to enable discovery debug in Spectrum to help troubleshoot an issue.

Environment

Spectrum

Release : All Supported Releases

Cause

By default, Spectrum does not log the details of discoveries.

Resolution

Launch the Spectrum oneClick WebApp (or thick client)

Locate the VNM model and go to the information tab.

Expand AutoDiscovery Control, Debug Options

Set Debug AutoDiscovery to ON

 

Additional Information

Logs are written to

<SPECROOT>/SS/ADiscDebug_<date>_<time>

E.G.

[root@lab ~]# cd /usr/Spectrum/SS

[root@lab SS]# pwd

/usr/Spectrum/SS

[root@lab SS]# ls -alt

total 957852
