Issue/Introduction

Cannot login to Clarity System Administration (CSA) application with password. Forgotten CSA password. Need to reset CSA/NSA password.

Environment

Release: All Supported Clarity Version

Resolution

To change the NSA admin password:

  1. Open a command prompt on the Application Server
  2. Type the command 'admin password'
  3. You will be prompted to enter the current CSA password (if you forgot the password, see below)
  4. You will be prompted to enter a new CSA password and also to confirm the new password.

If you have forgotten the NSA password and need to reset:

  1. Delete the '.passwd' file located under [CLARITY_HOME]\config
  2. Start a command prompt on the Application Server
  3. Type the command 'admin password'
  4. You will be prompted to enter and confirm a new NSA password.

Note: If the system is a clustered environment, these steps should be done to ALL installations involved in that cluster and they should be set to the SAME password. Restart all services when done resetting the CSA password.
