Issue/Introduction

We have presented saturation problems after activating the websphere agent (with the portal extension) in our production environment.

This overload is occurring with user load and without load.

 

 

 

Environment

• Release: 10.7.0
• Agent Release: 2023.3
• Extension version: 2023.3.0.4
• Websphere version: 9.0.5.14
• Java version: JAVA8 8.0.5.35 pxa6480sr5fp35-20190418_01

Cause

• Using  Java VM version "IBM J9 VM 1.8.0_211" from IBM Corporation" and /opt/wily/2023.3/core/config/IntroscopeAgent.profile

 

Resolution

For IBM J9 JVM we strongly recommend that you use the IntroscopeAgent.websphere.NoRedef.profile instead of IntroscopeAgent.profile  and  AgentNoRedefNoRetrans.jar file instead of Agent.jar

If  you are using JVM J9 from IBM, it is recommended to use AgentNoRedefNoRetrans.jar and IntroscopeAgent.NoRedef.profile instead
