Issue/Introduction

Symantec VIP adheres to industry best practices and regulations to ensure that your data is kept safe and confidential. This article highlights how long Symatec VIP retains transaction data and how to access that data. 

Resolution

VIP Transaction Data:

VIP retains transaction data for one year. This information is accessible through the reports section within VIP Manager. 

Users and Credentials Data:

For users and credentials data, refer to the VIP usage data policy 

Application Logs for VIP Enterprise Gateway and other installable VIP applications

Logs are generated by VIP Enterprise Gateway and other VIP components to allow organizations full control over data retention. Logs are retained by the application (by default) for 4 days.

Access to VIP Cloud event data

The VIP Report Streaming Service is a REST API that provides a programmatic means for obtaining VIP User and User+Credential event logs. Data is accessible for download for 24 hours.
