Issue/Introduction

How can I set / configure / a specific port to a DX UIM probe? For example,  unlike controller and spooler probe that are configurable as per How to configure the robot (controller) to use a different port when another application must use port 48000 (broadcom.com), how can I assign a specific port to the hdb probe?

Environment

DX UIM 20.4.*/ 23.4.*

Cause

Guidance

Resolution

To assign a specific port to a probe, for example, the HDB probe, it is possible to force the port using the probe utility

Select the controller probe in IM and press CTRL+P, and use the port_register callback as shown below:

Additional Information

Important note: The changes are not persisted after a robot restart. After a robot restart the probe ports that are not possible to hard code will be assigned a port, dynamically so the assigned port will change.
