Issue/Introduction

You may encounter a saturation of partition /opt/nimsoft/hub/q/qos/ on the collector UIM / primary HUB. This directory might be filled with a huge amount of .SDS files, and may consume hundreds of GBs.

Environment

Release : 20.4

CA UIM 20.4.7

CentOS 7.6

Cause

This issue might be caused by the overfilled database, which is running out of space.

There are two folders named qos_processor_qos_baseline and qos_processor_qos_message under  "/opt/nimsoft/hub/q/ where the .sds files are backing up and size is continuously increasing.

qos_processor_qos_baseline and qos_processor_qos_message  are the queues that are created by qos_processor.

These folders contain data in the form of .sds files which should be consumed by the qos_processor probe and whenever the hub sends data successfully, these files are deleted by hub - however, if the database is full and the hub / data engine cannot insert the most recent data to the database, the .sds files will be stacking up.

Resolution

Make sure that your database is not running out of space - if it is, assign additional space to the database.
