Issue/Introduction

Are the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) queries used by Information Centric Analytics' (ICA) Active Directory Connector Utility hardcoded, or can they be modified to include or exclude records with particular attributes?

Resolution

The Active Directory Connector Utility (also referred to as the AD Import Utility or AD Importer) applies filters to each directory search query. These are stored in the ActiveDirectoryDW database table dbo.MetadataContainers in the DirectorySearcherFilter column. These filters can be modified, though unexpected results may occur. Test all changes in a development environment before applying changes to your production environment.
