Issue/Introduction

After installing and attempting to boot to WinPE Automation Folder, the following error may be displayed:

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.

Environment

WinPE 10/11 Automation Folder boot

Cause

In at least one cause of this issue, a large amount of Pre-boot OS drivers had been imported to WinPE causing the size of the boot.wim to grow over 2.5 GB.

While PXE booting seemed unaffected other than slow boot times, Automation folders failed to boot entirely.

Resolution

It is recommended to only import required storage and network pre-boot OS drivers into Deployment Solution and Ghost Solution Suite to prevent the pre-boot OS from growing too large.

In the event this situation occurs, delete unneeded or duplicate pre-boot OS drivers
