Amazon EKS ended support for Dockershim

Issue/Introduction

When planning to upgrade Kubernetes (K8s) version on Amazon EKS the following note is shown on AWS console.

Amazon EKS seems to end support for Dockershim. From EKS 1.24 onward containerd will be the only container runtime. Will this cause any issue with VIP AuthHub install/upgrade?

Environment

Release : VIP Authentication Hub - 2o22.Oct releases

Resolution

Removal of Dockershim should not be an issue for VIP AuthHub.

When your K8s container runtime is "containerd", there is a flag to specify when deploying the VIP AuthHub infra chart. Please see documentation below
