NetMaster File Transfer Management NetMaster Network Automation NetMaster Network Management for SNA NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Issue/Introduction

I'm getting GP1005 FileTransfer is not configured in this region when I try to go into /FTADMIN. I'm not sure that FTP Management has been setup. I've tried going thru the Netmaster FTP Management book but I'm lacking some basic understanding when it's talking about System Image. Is there a document which shows a step by step example setup that I can follow along to see what is configured and what is not?

I have this in my FTPSYSIN card, but I'm not sure what it all means or if Netmaster FTM is setup to monitor anything.

Environment

Release : 12.2

Cause

/FTADMIN is a shortcut to reach the File Transfer Management main menu.

The GP1005 message indicates that the product/component (in this case File Transfer Management has not been configured in this region.

Resolution

The GP1005 appears if the product/component is not active in the RUNSYSIN.

In this instance, it was verified that the underlying infrastructure for the File Transfer product was available.

1) NMFTPMON is active and the the parms are configured correctly.

2) The COMMANDS DD includes the dataset for Netmaster File Transfer Management.

COMMANDS  SHR                 SYS3.NETMSTR.PARMLIB
          SHR                 SYS4.NETMSTR.R122.LOCALTT.TESTEXEC
          SHR                 SYS3.NETMSTR.CC17EXEC
          SHR                 SYS3.NETMSTR.CC2AEXEC
          SHR                 SYS3.NETMSTR.CC2DEXEC
          SHR                 SYS3.NETMSTR.CC11EXEC

3) A hlq.EVENTDB is defined.

4) The product has a current license key.

Bottom line is that the region was configured to run File Transfer, but it was deacivated at some point.
Checking the RUNSYSIN shows these statements commented out

*PREF='PROD=FT'

*PPREF='PROD=FTCD'

*PPREF='PROD=FTFTP'

*PPREF='PROD=FTFTS'

*PPREF='PROD=FTXCOM'

Activating the statements for the desired functions and cycling NetMaster will activate File Transfer.

Additional Information

The GP1005 error message will appear anytime a command within Netmaster is issued that requires a specific product that is not active.

If this product was originally included when the Netmaster region was built but was later excluded, the required datasets and information will be available, and activating the PPREF='PROD=xxx' statements will be sufficient to activate the product.

If the desired product was included in the SMP/E Installation but not initially included in the region, the region can be rebuilt to include that product.
If the desired product was not included in the SMP/E Installation, a reinstall of the product, or adding the required FMID to the existing CSI is needed.

NOTE: It should first be verified that an LMPKEY for the desired product is available prior to undertaking any SMP work.
