Task Management pages are prompting for credentials

Issue/Introduction

When the SMP Console loads, if the customer navigates to a page where there is a Task Management-related page, he gets prompted for credentials but even after adding the right ones it is not taking it and getting access denied. 

Also, the images/icons for the Task Management pages are not displayed properly:

ITMS 8.5, 8.6, 8.7

Cause

The customer made previous changes to IIS settings to some pages under IIS Manager>Default Web Site> Altiris> TaskManagement that were causing prompts for unnecessary authentication requests.

 

Resolution

The following changes were done by the customer to what we have as defaults:

1. Under IIS Manager>Default Web site> Altiris> TaskManagement, Anonymous Authentication was set to "Enabled". It needs to be set to "Disabled" 
   
   
   
   
   
2. Under IIS Manager>Default Web site> Altiris> TaskManagement, Digest Authentication was set to "Enabled". It needs to be set to "Disabled"
   
   
   
   
3. Under IIS Manager>Default Web site> Altiris> TaskManagement Images>, Windows Authentication was set to "Disabled". It needs to be set to "Enabled"
   
   

 

Close the SMP Console and reload the page.
