Load balancer support for attachments

Issue/Introduction
The attachments configuration names a VIP that references the download servlet for our SDM implementation. SAN Admins are not seeing traffic coming from the VIP but only see traffic coming from the Background server.
VIP setup is meant to facilitate load balancing for attachments and document repository access. Is this something that is available for attachments?

Resolution
Per current design, the document repository and attachments functionality does not support load balancing. There is no way to currently distribute the attachments servlet load via a load balancer or any other approach.
The usage of the above servlet server is for the benefit of the application servers that constitute the VIP Load Balance pool whenever a user on a given app server attempts to leverage attachments access. It will not have any bearing on the BG Server being used to facilitate attachments.
