Issue/Introduction

I want to test the View SARSTC tape backup facility, however I cannot because on the test system there are no tape devices nor esoterics available.

When using SARINIT TBACKUP=YES, the SARSTC task fails due to no tape available in the system.

How can I get around this problem and test the tape backup in this environment?

Resolution

If there are no tape devices of any kind and, resultingly, no tape esoterics available in a system, then the View SARSTC task's backup facility (to write to tape) cannot run.
