Logmon IM GUI Error: Run-Time error '-2147010895 (800736b1)'

Issue/Introduction

When I try to open logmon IM GUI I get the following Runtime error: 

Run-time error '-2147010895 (800736b1)': 
Automation error

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side 
configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event
log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

Cause

missing Dependency

Resolution

Please check all your installed applications on your Windows machine.

You need to have installed some "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable" packages.

For example:

• Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86
• Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable - x86

 

You need to check your task manager to see if the Infrastructure Manager process is running on 32 or 64 bit.

If it has a "*32" beside it and your system is a 64 bit OS, then the process should be running on 32 bit. This means that you should install x86 Redistributable versions.

 

For logmon,  you need to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86" version, which you can find here:

Other probes might require a different version of the redistributable (2005, 2008, 2010, for example).

 

 

Additional Information

Alternatively, if the system where the IM is running has a robot installed on it, simply deploy these 2 packages to the system where IM is running:
