Issue/Introduction

When attempting to see the config in the following path

C:\Program Files\CA\CA_OM_Web_Viewer\util\configtool.bat

The command prompt screen flickers but does not remain open

We even stopped Apache Tomcat first and then tried to open this screen, but it still won't work.  We were able to open the config screen fine in our Test servers, but could not do so in Dev or Prod.

Environment

  • Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
  • MS Windows Server
  • Apache Tomcat

Cause

It is not known why this problem occurs in some Windows Server environments. Fortunately, the workaround is simple enough. 

Resolution

Workaround:

  1. Open a CMD prompt "As Administrator"
  2. Change directory to C:\Program Files\CA\CA_OM_Web_Viewer\util
  3. Type "java -jar ConfigTool.jar" (without the quotes) and press enter.
