Issue/Introduction

My workstation isn't opening after Java upgrade from 1.8 version. Is there are way we can open workstation with an upgraded version of Java?

While launching APM application with the latest 3 jre versions (jre 8u351, jre 8u361, jre 8u371  ) we are getting some warnings from java security stating that the code signing certificate used by the application is using a weak security algorithm,  and hence it’s failing to launch.

Cause

APM 10.7 SP3 (10.7.0.197) will no longer be supported by  end of the year .

CA APM Release and Support Lifecycle Dates

Resolution

  • Fix is to use either 10.8SP3,10.8 HF3, 10.7 HF 87 or 2x,x

Additional Information

From another KB article:

One of our customer is not able to launch Introscope workstation 10.7.0.313 on windows.

webstart workstation is failing on 10.7.0.313 .

error message:

Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system

unassigned resource : .... /../...workstationProduct/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.101.R34x_v20080819.jar

java version "1.8.0_351"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_351-b31)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.351-b31, mixed mode)

There was an issue with the 10.7 certificate/key used for signing these artifacts and there was also secondary issue with the time stamp signing certificate. The signing certificate/key was changed on nextgen and on 10.8 several months back. The version 10.7.0.313 is about 2 years and 5 months old.
