Issue/Introduction

We have seen cases where robots stop communicating with their hubs when there is a very high CPU or Memory usage.

Is the Nimsoft Service Controller (robot( expected to restart or lose connectivity in the event of CPU and Memory hitting very high utilization?

Controller.log shows:

Jun 25 14:16:07:967 [20136] 0 Controller: Going down...
Jun 25 14:16:16:595 [20136] 0 Controller: Down

Environment

Release : UIM 20.4

Cause

If Memory or CPU hits 100% consistently, then the process responsible for the robot might be restarted by the OS.

Resolution

It is expected that the UIM Robot could go down if the system hits very high CPU and Memory usage.

If the system reports high CPU or Memory Usage the OS will restart the process.

Increasing the system resource like memory, CPU accordingly should address the problem.
