snmptd probe is collecting traps and forwarding them on as alarms through the spooler. More than 100000 traps are processed per hour. When this is happening, the spooler probe is using a lot of memory.

Found that trap count qos is enabled. This, combined with alarm storm protection, is causing the high memory.
After disabling the trap count qos, the issue has been resolved with memory dropping back down to normal usage.
