Top Secret PROTECTED attribute preventing passticket signons

Issue/Introduction

After setting the PROTECTED attribute on a CICS region that uses passticket, the following error messages are received:

DFHXS1201 06/19/2023 07:20:01 CICSPROD The password supplied in the verification request for userid USERA was invalid. This occurred in transaction CWXN when userid CICSABCD was signed on at netname ????????.

TSSUTIL violation report shows a DRC E0 security violations (USER CANNOT SIGN ON WITH A PASSWORD) for the CICS region acid.

Resolution

Top Secret PROTECTED attribute documentation  states that passtickets are not supported with the PROTECTED attribute.
