After Windows Endpoint Protection upgrade old agent files are left over.

Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) was upgraded. Attempting to allow SEP with exclusions in Windows AppLocker points to the older SEP version prior to the upgrade. Any attempt to manually delete the older SEP version fails.

Cause

After the SEP upgrade the required reboot was not completed.  The older agent files are still in use until after the reboot.  Once the system is rebooted the older version will be removed automatically.

Resolution

To resolve reboot the system after the SEP upgrade.
