Issue/Introduction

Is there a list of started tasks that start after security starts, and before the Cleanup started task starts?

Resolution

Every shop's startup procedures vary so the below list may not be complete.

The table below lists the "general" name for the started task and what it does, though the name will most likely be different from environment to environment.

JESn	The JES started task, either JES2 or JES3
NET	The VTAM started task
TSO	The TSO started task
OMVS	The started task for USS services or OMVS
TCPIP	The started task used under OMVS for terminal control
CAS9	The CA Common Services started task used for license control
SCHED	The job scheduler started task used by the shop
TAPE	The tape package started task name
ETCL	The CA-Cleanup started task name
