How to switch user roles in the DLP console

Issue/Introduction

A single login may have multiple roles assigned to it. The resolution below will show how to switch between those roles

Resolution

User roles are determined when the user logs in. There are two ways to change which roles are used. 

Method 1: Specifying the role before the user name

The following format can be used when logging in to the console role\user. (for example, ReportViewer\bsmith). This is described in this tech doc page; Logging On and Off the Enforce Server Administration Console.

Note that both the user name and the role are case sensitive.

Method 2: Changing the default role under the profile

If a user has multiple roles they can click their profile in the top right of the console and then change their default role. Then the next time the user logs in they will use that role.

At this time if SAML / SSO is being used then Method 2 is the only way to change the roles.
