How to bring in the project ID into the Rally Project lookup

Issue/Introduction

In the new Clarity 16.1.2 release you can optionally display the Rally Project ID in addition to the Rally Project Name in Clarity. This enhancement leverages Clarity’s configurable auto-suggest capabilities to display additional information such as Rally Project ID during the selection process only.

In the new Clarity 16.1.2 release you can optionally display the Rally Project ID in addition to the Rally Project Name in Clarity. This enhancement leverages Clarity’s configurable auto-suggest capabilities to display additional information such as Rally Project ID during the selection process only.

Rally Projects includes the Rally Project ID

Configure Auto-Suggest Settings for Lookups
(You may need to scroll down to the section: Configure Auto-Suggest Settings for Lookups)

Steps:

Go into Classic > Clarity Administration > Lookups > Rally Projects lookup
Locate the lookup and open Auto-suggest page
Add the Project ID to the lookup and update the AutoSuggest area to include Project ID, click save
Go back to MUX and see the ID adjacent to the Project Name

Additional Information

To create custom attribute (Rally Project ID) to receive the Rally Project ID information in Clarity, which can be positioned as a grid column on the Investment, you can create a new custom field and script that populates the Rally Project ID into the selected field from the lookup value that was populated by the OOB Rally Sync
