Issue/Introduction

WebAgent 12.52 SP1 CR8 is configured for an IIS Web server. The application pool crashes randomly.

The crash dump was sent to Microsoft and this is their response:

The dump points to the SiteMinder module as being the cause of the memory access violations which crash the app pool.
SiteMinder is passing an empty header value for the header SM_LOCATION_PARSED and setting the length of the header value to ffff. This is causing the IIS code to append headers to read into an area that it shouldn't, causing the Access violation.

Environment

Web Agent 12.52 SP1 CR08 64-bit on IIS Web server

Resolution

The Web Agent version is slightly older than the latest CR11. There has been a number of defects which are related to IIS Agent and resolved.

It is recommended to upgrade IIS Web Agent to the latest 12.52 SP1 CR11.

Note: As for the customer issue, it is solved with the Web Agent upgrade.
