C1BM4100: E067 WILDCARD SPECIFICATION ON ELEMENT NAME IS NOT ALLOWED

Issue/Introduction

Package was built to Archive 8K elements using a wildcard for the Element Name but Cast fails with 'C1BM4100: E067 WILDCARD SPECIFICATION ON ELEMENT NAME IS NOT ALLOWED'.

Resolution

To resolve this issue during package creation, on the screen to build the ARCHIVE SCL, set the DISPLAY LIST to N and enter a value into TO FILE =>.  This DDNAME will correspond to the file definition entered during Package Submit. This will generate SCL for all Elements that meet the selection criteria for the Environment, System, Subsystem, Stage and Type parameters (all of which can be wildcarded, if needed).

After the SCL is generated, proceed to Cast and Approve (if required) the package. When the package is to be executed/submitted for execution, select Option E - Enter additional JCL and provide the necessary file definition parameters for your Archive Dataset: 

After providing the file definition and PF3 back to the Submit Package panel, set the INCLUDE JCL to Y and continue with package submit.
