How to monitor Collectors and MOM connects

Issue/Introduction

APM 10.8,  Enterprise Manager Map in the APM Status Console is not available anymore. 

Product Management and DEV team has confirmed that the APM Status Console broken panels is a known issue and it is deprecated feature with APM release 10.8. Product Management and DEV team are working on moving this functionality to the team center. There is no ETA yet. 

Previously customer would use that map to ensure all EM’s were communicating with the MOM.  What is another way for customer to verify this in workstation?

• Release: 10.8

Resolution

We can monitor the connection between Collectors and MOM via following metric.

In Investigator under super domain -> Custom Metric Host (virtual)-> 
Custom Metric Process (virtual)-> Custom Metric Agent (superdomain) ->
Enterprise Manager -> MOM -> Collectors -> <collector IP/Hostname@<port>: Connected

If the MOM and Collector connection is established, then the metric value would be 1.

So, in this case you can build a dashboard and have this metric reported in the dashboard.

Once you create a dashboard, under data option you can link this metric to the dashboard item that you select to represent the data.
