Manual scans launched using the sav command line utility are not logged.

Issue/Introduction

When running a manual scan using the the sav command line utility (/opt/Symantec/sdcssagent/AMD/tools/sav manualscan -s /pathtofile), the scan details are not logged in avman.log or amd.log.  The scan details are also not forwarded to the Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) or Cyber Defense Manager (CDM).  Scans created by policy or issued from the SEPM are still logged as normal.

Cause

Working as design.

Resolution

This is a known limitation of the sav command line utility.  Scan details (how many files are scanned, scan start or completion time, etc) will not be forwarded to the management console.  Details of the scan can be seen locally by reviewing /var/log/sdcsslog/amdlog/sisamd_x.log.
