Issue/Introduction

The z/OS RACF team will implement PASSPHRASE (up to 100 characters in a pass phrase in addition to passwords). I want to know how DATACOM adapts or uses this change.

Environment

Release : 15.1

Component : Datacom/AD

Component : Datacom/DB

Resolution

If you have a fairly straightforward Datacom/DB setup, and are not using External Security with this MUF, all logins are managed using internal data tables, and there is no interaction with RACF or other security systems. As a result, your Datacom processing should not be affected by your migration from passwords to pass phrases.

However, in any event, please be sure that you have tested your normal operation of batch and online Datacom processes using a non-production MUF before implementing this into your production environment. This will ensure that both Datacom processes and other processes that work alongside Datacom continue to function as expected.

Additional Information

As always, please contact Broadcom support for Datacom if you have further questions.
