Issue/Introduction

If you lose or cannot remember the default admin password (the person who has total access to the Reporter appliance), you can reset the password without losing all of your configurations.
Most password management for Reporter 11.x is done in Management Center. The following procedure is specifically for the root admin user on Reporter only.
When you or someone in your organization performed the initial configuration of the Symantec Reporter appliance, you defined the initial Admin password to accompany the default admin username. Use the following procedure to reset the password.
If the appliance was configured with a separate Console setup password and you cannot remember it, the only way to recover is to perform the restore-defaults factory-defaults operation, which results in a loss of all databases and configuration.
