Issue/Introduction

You installed Symantec Endpoint Protection for Linux client (SEPFL) as Self-Managed and you want to register it to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager(SEPM).

Environment

Legacy SEPFL clients, 14.3 MP1 and earlier

Resolution

In your Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager choose a client group that you wish your client to be a member of.

Right-click the desired client group and choose "Export Communications Settings..." and save the sylink.xml file.

To import the sylink.xml file in Linux machine, run below command:

/opt/Symantec/symantec_antivirus/sav manage -i sylink.xml

Above command should show you "Imported successfully" and the client should appear as online in your SEPM.

To verify locally if the sylink.xml was imported successfully:

/opt/Symantec/symantec_antivirus/sav manage -s  # to show the ip address of the managing SEPM

/opt/Symantec/symantec_antivirus/sav manage -p  # to show which policy is applied

/opt/Symantec/symantec_antivirus/sav manage -g   #to show under which group
