Is ITMS 8.x dependent on Microsoft Visual Studio VC++ 2008, 2010 and 2013?

Issue/Introduction

Our Cyber team is expressing a need to uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio VC++ 2008, 2010, and 2013 from our Altiris servers, to which they do have VC++ 2015-2022 which is the latest. 

Will our Altiris environment have issues if we uninstall older versions as they are EOL and possible threats to vulnerabilities?

Resolution

ITMS 8x does not require the whole Visual Studio VC++ compiler. 

The ITMS platform does not use VC++ run-time DLLs as the VC++ run-time is embedded into our binaries.  The only solutions that use VC++ DLLs are Monitor Solution and PPA.  All ITMS 8.6 modules are built using VC 2017.
