Issue/Introduction

Symantec CloudSOC 3.157 Release Notes introduced the Broadcom Service Status API.

What is this and how is it used?

Environment

CloudSOC 3.157

Resolution

Broadcom Products have a Service Status page where you can see the current health, downtime or maintenance on any service. We highly recommend you subscribe to these so you are notified with any change or alert.

For email notifications, click the Subscribe button, add your email address and then click the bell icon for any product or sub product you're interested in.

However, as of CloudSOC 3.157, Broadcom has added a new way to manage these notifications, by using the Broadcom Service Status API. You can copy any of the following four URLs, to whichever API management solution/utility you are currently using, to be notified of any product alerts.

  • Simple Overview
  • List Components
  • List Notices
  • Detailed Notice Information

You can use utilities such as Linux cURL, Powershell, JSON, Splunk, QRADAR, Postman, etc. to manage these APIs.

Broadcom CloudSOC Support and Engineering do not support any of these utilities but rather ensure that the APIs are functioning correctly to build our service status into your current workflow.

Additional Information

The Status API allows developers to build on and benefit from the Sorry™ platform. At the same time, we must protect our system and our users’ rights, rate limiting to 5 requests per second.
