Error fetching list of registered connector servers

Issue/Introduction

From Virtual Appliance Admin Console, when opening the menu > External Tools it takes some time and display the error message

"Error fetching list of registered connector servers. Script terminated due to SSH command timeout running command on host xxx.xx.xx.x"

Environment

Virtual Appliance 14.x

Cause

There are External Connector Server in the Connector XPress (CS Configs) which does not exist anymore.

Resolution

Remove the EXT_WINDOWS_XXX.XX.XX.X from the Connector XPress that it's not being used in the Virtual Appliance environment.

On Virtual Appliance, Provisioning Servers > <Your_PS> > im > CS Configs

 

To add a new External Connector Server you can use the Virtual Appliance Dashboard or command line as described below:

1. su – imps 
2. csfconfig auth=etaadmin list 
3. When prompted, please insert the password for user etaadmin 
4. csfconfig auth=etaadmin remove "name=EXT_WINDOWS_10_10_10_1" 
5. When prompted, please insert the password for user etaadmin 

From the Browser

6. Go to vApp Web Console and select "External tools", you should see a list of connector servers 
7. Add new External Connector Servers “Enter IP address click Add 
8. Enter password for the external connector server. 

Note 1: Ensure all ports are open or the process will fail.

Note 2: Before removing the external CS, check if your endpoints are not using the CS you will remove.
