Issue/Introduction

Trying to download Broadcom PTFs via SMP/E Internet Service Retrieval, but the job fails (RC 16) due to the following SMP/E error:

GIM45500S ** VERIFICATION OF HASH VALUE OF FILE SMPHOLD/S0001.CAORDER.ORDER.P15116.P85.SMPHOLD.pax.Z FAILED. SMP/E WILL
             NOT RETRY FILE RETRIEVAL.

          WILL NOT RETRY FILE RETRIEVAL.

Explanation
filename
    name of file. If this name exceeds 300 characters in
    length, only the first 300 characters will appear in
    this message.

After the identified file was transferred by SMP/E, the
computed hash value for the file did not match the
expected hash value. This could signal an error during
transmission of the file. SMP/E makes no more attempts
at transferring the file.

Cause

• Usually a temporary problem on the download servers
• Can be tied to system performance

Resolution

1. Rerun the SMP/E Internet Service Retrieval job after some time
2. Assign higher system service class (eg. SYSSTC) to the batch job

If the problem persists, open a case on the Broadcom support portal and provide complete job output.
