Control Center hardware status check reports RAID error but the RAID controller detects none

Issue/Introduction

The Messaging Gateway (SMG) Control Center hardware status page shows a RAID status of Error but subsequent hardware diagnostics or a check of the RAID status via SNMP does not show an issue with the RAID.

Environment

• SMG 10.8.0 or earler
• SNMPv3 monitoring with MD5 hash authentication enabled

 

Cause

When configured to use SNMP3 with MD5 hash authentication, the internal monitoring of the RAID controller fails and generates an "Unknown" state for the RAID array. This "Unknown" RAID state is displayed in the Hardware Status page as an Error.

Resolution

This issue has been addressed with the SMG 10.8.1 release.
